Some days I wonder what it feels like
To be pressed in at the test point of history.
In Guinea, Sierra Leone and Liberia
To stand at the frontline of Ebola
To fight with all might.
To overcome the acute anxiety…Of knowing it could have been me
In the belly of the beast
Then I remember, that I have forgotten
I quickly forget the urgency
The urgency to end poverty and molestation
The farness disconnects me
Its intangibility blinds me
The rhetoric desensitizes me
Everywhere. Here and there
It’s me and them…
